ATIU at the Vinitaly Design Award

Vinitaly is the world's largest wine exhibition. Held annually in Verona — ATIU's home city — it brings together producers, distributors and packaging professionals from across the globe. The Vinitaly Design Award recognises excellence in wine packaging design.

Innovation in Wine Packaging

Wine packaging is evolving. Producers are moving beyond traditional paper labels toward decoration methods that are more durable, more distinctive and more sustainable. Digital sublimation addresses all three requirements. It enables full-colour, photographic-quality decoration directly on the glass — permanent, waterproof and fully recyclable.

ATIU's Contribution

At Vinitaly, ATIU showcases how sublimation transforms wine bottle presentation. Vineyard photography, terroir maps, harvest-year artwork and heritage typography all reproduce at exceptional quality. Winemakers discover new possibilities for telling their story through the bottle itself — not just a label attached to it.

Verona: Where Wine Meets Technology

It is fitting that ATIU is based in Verona — the heart of Italian wine culture. Our two production plants serve winemakers across Italy and internationally. We decorate bottles from Bormioli Luigi, Verescence, Saverglass and other leading glassmakers, applying the same quality standards we bring to luxury perfumery, spirits and home fragrance.

Design That Respects the Environment

Sustainability matters deeply to the wine community. ATIU's solvent-free sublimation process, zero-net CO₂ status since 2023 and Pentawards Gold 2025 recognition speak to environmental commitment. The decorated bottle remains fully compatible with glass recycling streams.

Can sublimation replace traditional wine labels?

Yes. Sublimation decorates the glass directly, eliminating the need for applied paper labels. The result is more durable, waterproof and visually distinctive — ideal for premium wines served in ice buckets or stored in cellars.

Does ATIU work with wine producers of all sizes?

Yes. Digital sublimation's plate-free process makes short runs viable for small estates, while ATIU's industrial capacity serves large producers. Both benefit from the same quality, sustainability credentials and photographic resolution.
