Plymouth Gin × Ocean Conservation Trust
230 years old. Still making waves.
Plymouth Gin is one of the oldest gin distilleries in existence — 230 years of history from the same Barbican distillery overlooking Plymouth Sound. When they partnered with the Ocean Conservation Trust, the brief wasn't just a limited edition. It was a commitment: every bottle sold funds the regeneration of seagrass, one of the most endangered marine habitats on the planet.
A bottle that funds something real
The Ocean Edition has grown across three consecutive years. Year 2 introduced a blue-tinted bottle that turned the sea itself into a design element. Year 3 went further — a vibrant underwater scene that wraps the entire bottle, bringing the ocean to life in full colour.
The design tells the story of what the donations protect: seagrass beds that capture carbon 35 times faster than rainforests and support 80,000 fish per hectare. So far, 20 hectares of seagrass have been regenerated.
Packaging as activism
This is packaging as activism. A bottle that doesn't just look different — it funds something real. The mission needed a decoration technology that was truly sustainable. Plymouth chose ATIU so that sustainability was built into the production, not layered on as an afterthought.
Creative direction by Boundless, the agency that has shaped the Ocean Edition's visual identity across all three years.

ATIU's role
Digital sublimation on glass for Year 2 and Year 3 editions. Full-body photographic artwork, 360° coverage on the Plymouth bottle shape. Organic inks. Zero heavy metals. A decoration process consistent with the ocean conservation mission.
